Garden Store in Surrey

This Secure garden store was designed with a single leaf garage door rather than a personnel door allowing easier access for a ride on lawn mower and other gardening equipment. One of our mullion windows has also been used which provides security whilst still allowing natural light into the building. This small oak framed building was designed with practicality and aesthetics in mind so it would complement the property and surrounding garden. As this oak framed building ages not only will it joints strengthen but the timber will silver blending in seamlessly within the garden and increasing its charm.

Whilst this building has a small foot print the vaulted ceiling like on all our buildings give a much bigger feeling of space internally. The oak frame also allows for a false floor to be put in either over both bespoke bays or just half of the building, this can massively increase storage as well as allowing the building to be used for multiple purposes. If your thinking about this, a good option is installing a drop down or telescopic ladder to access this mezzanine storage area above.

Our extra wide ODC bricks have been used which allows a single skin of bricks to be used and the frame to sit flush upon it whilst not eating in to the internal space of the floorplan. The timber studwork in this building presents a great opportunity for tools to be hung up and shelving to be fixed increasing storage further. Electrics have been installed allowing for power and further lighting within this oak framed garden store.

The Sanctuary Garden Room and Office in Kent

This design is based on a smaller one bay full span garage & logstore design with the addition of some attractive french windows. At the Oak Designs Company each building is made to order so if you would like to tweak the design or size that is no problem.

The Granary in Kent

This oak frame building was designed to be a ground floor extension to help create a luxurious entertaining and living space to an existing brick built building. All the joinery bar the Velux roof lights have been hand crafted in oak with double glazing. The large amount of glass used in this joinery brings a lot of natural light into the building and gives great views out onto neighbouring fields. Internally the space opens up to the rear onto an outdoor dining & entertainment area as well as side access at the front to the adjoining pre-existing brick building.

We have used the very highest grade oak there is for the frame which is an additional upgrade here at the Oak Designs Co. Internal oak has received a sandblasting treatment which we can also offer as a further service, it looks amazing on these oak framed internal structures and really helps to bring out and accentuate the natural characteristics of the wood.

Our clients have done an amazing job with the internal fit out especially with the built in speaker systems, fully stocked bar & kitchenette. A few of many features that help make this such a fantastic hang out & entertaining space.
The vaulted ceiling and exposed feature trusses further increase the feeling of space and luxury inside this building. The LED lighting between the top sides of the feature trusses and the ceiling is new feature that we have never seen used with our designs and we think it looks great! Custom Built Garden Room Project in West Sussex

This custom garden room allows great views over a gorgeous garden through oak framed windows and french doors that open out onto it. There is an oak personnel door round the side offering as the main entrance. This building uses larch weatherboarding with a gable roof & mullion window.

Exposed oak beams & trusses with vaulted ceiling and underfloor heating help give this garden room a striking, spacious and comfortable area to relax in.

Future plans for this space is to provide a garden/ living room to act as a “snug in the winter” and more of a day room to open out to the garden outside, during the summer. The owners also plan to link this to the main house with a walkway connected to the side personnel door.
