This lovely rustic oak frame 4.5 bay outbuilding with a catslide gable roof was designed to provide an outdoor entertainment area with indoor kitchen, pool house, garden store and plant room to hide away the pool heating systems.
3 bays have been left open at the front and side which allow space for the outdoor entertainment area as well as outdoor kitchen & dining area both with vaulted ceilings. A partition and personnel door was used to create another clever space for storage and the pool plant room at the rear of the property in the catslide
The final 1.5 bay at the rear creates a large space that can be entered through different sides via French doors and a personnel door. This helps for access but has also allowed another outdoor area round the other side of the building to be created so there’s always that perfect spot in the sun throughout the day.
The rustic style outdoor kitchen has been complimented by the silvering of the oak weatherboard and oak frame offset by aluminium guttering running around the building in this sun trap by the pool towards the end of the garden. This multi-purpose building was supplied by The Oak Designs Company in kit form to our clients and was erected in the country side of the south of France. The beauty of these oak frame eco-friendly outbuildings like this is that they suit and enhance their surroundings so well, oozing in charm as well as adding a lot of value onto a property.
At the same time oak frame buildings are the perfect development project in areas of outstanding natural beauty and plots with listed buildings where applying for planning permission can normally be unachievable. It was a pleasure to design this oak frame pool house and think it looks at home in the French country side.
